Cloud Chords is a small, Seattle-based music lessons business that makes music accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for all students. Founded in 2020, we started out by specializing in online lessons. Our founder, Eliot, created a unique system using magnetic whiteboards to add visual learning and games that make online learning feel more personal and engaging. Today, while we still offer virtual lessons for those who prefer them, we’re excited to meet students face-to-face. Our teachers now travel to homes across Seattle, bringing the convenience of in-person lessons to your door.
At Cloud Chords, we believe that there is no “one size fits all” approach to learning music. Our goal is to help students develop a love for their instrument that will last a lifetime. Most of our students are beginners, or are picking up an instrument for the first time in a while, and we take pride in creating a comfortable environment for anyone who’s just starting out.
Our teaching style is flexible and personalized: we work to understand each student’s musical interests, learning style, and goals, and then adapt our approach to fit their needs. For our younger students especially, we put so much effort into making lessons fun and engaging; we incorporate music games, improvisation activities, songwriting, ear training, and performance opportunities into our teaching method.
Cloud Chords instructors are active, renowned, and vetted professional musicians, with experience in everything from performing in bands, composing music for films, to writing their own music method books. But beyond technique and experience, we’re here because we genuinely enjoy helping people connect with music. We do this because we find meaning and purpose by sharing the love and passion that we have for music with our community.
